Legend Car Specifications.

Keaton is thrilled to be driving a custom-built, “Victory Red” Legend Car with JDC Motorsports, carrying his signature #25.

5/8th Scale American Bodyshell.

The Legend Car is a homologated, closed wheel racing car whose specifications are governed by INEX.

The bodyshells are 5/8th-scale replicas of American automobiles from the 1930s and 1940s, covering a tube frame chassis.

Keaton’s racecar design is specifically based on a 1934 Ford Coupe, though some can be based on 1930s Dodge and Chevrolet sedans or coupes.

Yamaha ZF09 Engine.

Legend cars can be powered by a Yamaha XJ1250, FJ1200, or FZ09 engine, with the latter being the most recently released in 2018.

Keaton’s racecar is a fuel-injected, water-cooled 860cc inline 3-cylinder Yamaha FZ09 engine with a 12,000rpm redline producing 136hp.

This engine is mated to a 6-speed sequential manual transmission (with clutch pedal) directly powering the rear wheels.

Performance

The performance of Legend Cars greatly depend on vehicle setup and track conditions, however they can reach top speeds in excess of 190km/h (120mph) when conditions allow.

In ideal conditions, Legend Cars can accelerate 0-100km/h (0-62mph) in ~4.0 seconds.

This is made possible by the very lightweight construction, in many cases needing additional weight to meet the 1,300lbs minimum weight requirement.

To put it in perspective, the Legend Car has the same power-to-weight ratio as a Porsche 718 Boxster (9.5 lbs/hp).
